Stop worrying what the most efficient, mathematically superior build is and just play the game.

I'd like to hear what ANet has planned next for profession balancing sometime soon, but I doubt we'll get to see that information until after the 6th birthday since they're probably working on something along those lines.
Eles and Rangers are in need of reworking the most. Paras after them imo.

I say paras need an update more than eles and rangers. There's actually variety in their builds, it's just that you see more bad skills because there are more skills for those two than there are for para. However, paras run almost exclusively Imbagon in pve. The only reasons why a para isn't running Imbagon is either:
1. They don't have the skills for the build.
2. They're using a build meant for a specific team build, like for an SC for example.

Except is really feels shitty when your oldest character is useless compared to newly-buffed Dervishes or Ritualists or Mesmers... I mean, A.Net didn't even bother to fix Nature Rituals like they did with Spirits.
My current build is either R/A with Assassin's Promise and PvE skills, or R/Rt spirit spammer. It works, since Expertise is awesome, but I veeery rarely use bows, especially when it comes to damage.

Look at those screenshots:
The damage you see in those picture is done with 19 at air 12+1+3+1+2 (superior rune + el + goep) and mobs had cracked armor...
Compare the damage in the pics above (max 78 damage) with the damage done by esurge at only 14 domination (81 damage). See how funny it is me as ele i need 4 skills (e, goep, weaken armour and invoke) to do that 78 damage and the mesmer is doing more damage then me with 1 single skill... (I don't even want to talk about the -75 hp that i have compare to the mesmer cause of my superior rune).
You can say go fire. Well here are the screenshots with fire at 20 fire: 12+1+3+1+2+3 cape at 20 (superior rune + el + goep + double dragon) (didn'nt wanted to use cons so i put there double dragon, anyway you don't have an elite to do more damage in one single hit then the damage skill i chosed):
Actually fire got me the best damage 87 (of course the mesmer uses major rune at beat me again with esurge):
As result this "Elementalists can inflict more damage in a single strike than any other profession." that can be found here http://www.guildwars.com/gameplay/pr.../elementalist/ is a big lie.
Note: There was no other damage dealer in the party, with me there were 3 healers hero and nothing else.

The only thing I'm confused about is why it was necessary to post this to convince someone, even terrible players figured this out a while ago. Unless of course he was trolling...

Get out of the WoW mindset of meters and numbers, or specifically in Guild Wars' case the fascination with speed. It's not the end of the world if you can't clear content during the commercial break of your favorite show.

Well, it wasn't the worst situation i've seen for ele damage. Try Boogrot and Sparkly Swamp. I know is like the 3rd time i say it on guru, but at 14 fire Rogdort invocation is like....35 damage. Listed 100 or so, and remember that buh is gone. And then some people are surprised to see so much ER or SoS(done by eles), and can't see why eles are complaining.

It's only on non-Prophecies stuff that eles suck so bad. In Prophecies Kryta and before you can get listed damage because mobs are level 24 or less (72 armor) which means about 15% reduction rather than 50-70%. I was noticing in hard mode talmark wilderness I did listed to fire imps and ~22-25 out of 40 on minotaurs on [email protected] (AP bar with 11+1+3=15 earth, 11 deadly, 8+1 energy). However in Kessex Peak I did roughly 20/40=50% to Rangers, in line with PVP.
When the only place in hard mode that you can do respectable damage is about 10% of the game it is pretty sad.
@ Racthoh It's not that eles can't clear stuff in a commercial break. When I VQ I do it within ~30 min. It's that overall the spells cast slower, recharge slower, cost more, and do 1/2 what other professions do. It seems like when playing ele you make things harder for no damn reason. I'm just glad with 7 heroes it isn't nearly as painfully slow as before. After I finish my last few 6 man VQs no more ele PVEing for me.

Considering Elem are part of the original proffessions and marketed as damage dealers, I wonder what the designer tought about future chapters when NF endgame has lv28 mobs. I'M not even talking about HM, it wasn't in the original design. It looks like they purposefully made a game whose killer profession is doomed to be overshadowed.
And that's not even considering melee damage and the fact every other class has AL-ignoring dmg. Why give the weakest weapon to your dps? Did they loose control of their game or are the original designers simply idiots.
Juste some questions.

The designers never thought about PvE past beating the campaign on NM (they were still under the presumption that GW could survive as a PvP game).

The prophecies endgame has lvl 28 mobs, it's nothing new. And Anet has been long cautious about eles in PvE for whatever reason, fire damage used to be much lower than it is now, and they introduced the AI changes for scatter and aggro to combat the tank-nuke meta that was becoming popular even in prophecies.
Level scales a number of things automatically besides just armor, including gold and item quality, health, damage, skill levels, etc. It's not a surprise they went to that resource to bump enemies up in HM, so that the starter level areas would not be that out of line with the endgame ones.

Those pictures are actually one of the BEST case scenarios for eles. Kournan mobs actually has some of the weakest armour on paper. Those Kournan Zealots only has around 88 armour in hard mode...they don't receive any "bonus" armor like *cough* vaettirs.
But...somehow Anet saw fit to including "Stand Your Ground!" onto the kournan phalanx (paragons), and that 88 armour goes up to 113 armour most of the time...

Warriors aren't so involved in meta PvP as of right now, not a big deal to me because how long were we the ONLY choice? PvE, to think a warrior won't get by just fine in any PvE setting is absurd.
